How do online sessions work?

Sessions are held via Zoom using a professional, HIPAA compliant platform. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a private space where you feel comfortable talking. Many clients find that being in their own environment actually makes it easier to open up — there's no commute, no waiting room, just you showing up for yourself wherever you are in California.

How long are sessions and how often do we meet?

Sessions are 50 minutes. Most clients meet weekly which tends to be a good cadence for doing meaningful work. That said I'm also available for multiple sessions a week for those who want or need extra support — whether on a consistent basis or simply as needed during a particularly challenging time.

What can I expect from a first session?

The first session is about connecting. I'll answer any questions you have, we'll talk about what brought you to therapy right now, and we'll begin to explore what you're hoping to get out of our work together. After that, unless we've discussed something different, we typically start each session wherever you are in that moment — whatever is on your mind. In my experience, no matter where we start, it invariably leads us where we need to go.

What are your fees?

My fee is $275 per session. I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. I'm happy to provide a superbill for clients who wish to seek reimbursement from their insurance provider — this allows us to focus entirely on you, without the constraints insurance oversight can place on the therapeutic process. I also maintain a limited number of reduced fee spots in my practice. If you have concerns about fees please don't hesitate to bring it up — I'm happy to discuss what might work for us both.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. This allows me to offer the time to another client who may need it.

How do I know if you're the right therapist for me?

Honestly, the fit between therapist and client matters enormously — it may be the single most important factor in whether therapy is effective. I offer a free consultation call to talk about what you're looking for, answer any questions, and get a sense of whether we might work well together. If after that we both feel it's not the right fit I'm happy to offer referrals to other therapists who might be a better match. There's no pressure and no obligation.
