Anxiety

Anxiety is hard to ignore. There are the racing thoughts, the pounding heart, the churning stomach, the constant refrain of "what if?" We've all felt it. But when anxiety becomes a daily companion — taking the color and enjoyment out of life, making it hard to focus on anything else — it's time to get some support.

Anxiety can show up in different ways. Sometimes it centers on a specific situation or fear. Other times it moves freely from one concern to the next, always finding something new to latch onto. And sometimes the attempt to figure out what it all means becomes its own kind of trap — just another way of trying to feel in control.

That's why I look at the full picture. Some of the work involves immediate relief — grounding tools, breathing practices, ways to settle the nervous system when it's in overdrive. But even more important is learning to relate to anxiety differently. Rather than fighting it or trying to reason your way out of it, there's real value in learning to allow it, to bring it along with you as you pursue what matters most in your life. This is at the heart of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which I draw on extensively in this work, along with Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and evidence-based exposure work.

Whether you're dealing with generalized anxiety, panic, social anxiety, or a specific fear, the goal isn't just to feel less anxious — it's to feel more free.
